بسم الله الرّحمن الرّحيم.
The Qur'an is a great miracle, a miracle that everyone, friend and foe, can see with his/her own eyes, it is memorised word by word by the old and young, men and women. Memorising the Qur'an is not dependent on one possessing a good memory. Intellectuals blessed with great intelligence and powerful memory cannot memories fifty pages of any literature in their wn language, but the Qur'an is memorised within a short time even by the dull-headed, and even though one's own mother-tongue may be different.
As long as it is Allah's wish that the Qur'an remain in this world, so long there will also be those who memories it. They who are indifferent to it only deprive themselves of its blessing. There have always been those who learn it by heart and there always will be. Inshaa Allah!
We should step forward towards the Qur'an and enrich ourselves with its blessing. And also do our best to make our children memorise it.
Hazrat Ali Murtaza radhiyallahu 'anhu quotes the Messenger of Allah as saying,
"He who recites the Qur'an and memorises it, and looks upon its permissibles, and its forbidden as forbidden, Alah will make him/her enter paradise and will accept his/her intercession for ten people of his/her household who deserve to be sent to hell." [Tirmizi]
One must act according to the commands given in the Qur'an, never against them. What has been made permissible there in is permissible for us, and what has been forbidden is forbidden to us.
Hazrat Mu'aaz Juhni radhiyallahu 'anhu reports the Prophet of Allah as saying,
"The parents of him/her who recites the Qur'an and acts upon it shall be crowned on the Last Day with a crown of which the light will be superior to that of the sun as it shines in people's houses on the earth. When such is the honour given to parents, what must be the state of him/her who recites the Qur'an and acts on it?"
Make your children memorise the Qur'an. Ignorant people have propagated the idea that this is very, very hard but the fact is that it is quiet easy to do so. The Qur'an is not memorised by the memory but by a miracle. We know from experience that children attend school and grown-up their day to day work, even aged people with snow white hair, yet they memorise the Qur'an. Allah gives all of them success!
It has been seen that the memory and general intelligence of the child who memories the Qur'an improve very considerably. Whatever education he/she goes for, he/she is always ahead of his/her class-fellows. Human beings succeed in this life and the Hereafter because of the blessings of the Qur'an. How can those who do not understand the Qur'an nor make a move towards it be familiar with its blessings?
Some people say, 'oh, whats the use of memorising like a parrot?' These people look upon money as profit, not on the reward of ten good deeds for each word, the crowning of parents, and saving ten of the family from hell as profit. They say, 'what will the child eat if he/she becomes a mulla? But who prevents a child from going in for service or business after he/she has memorised the Qur'an? To be mulla is a great blessing. One who does not want his child to become a mulla should, at least, not deprive him/her from memorising the Qur'an. Any legitimate occupation may be fellowed after it has been memorised. The years spent in memorising are not wasted for secular education because with a few months of labour, the child can easily pass his/her sixth or seventh class examination after he/she has memorised the Qur'an. This is not hollow claim, its been proven by experience.
Wassalam. Have a bless day. =)
